The Altrincham Garrick Playhouse

Established in 1914, The Altrincham Garrick Playhouse aims to entertain, inspire and educate communities with a high quality creative arts experience that will enrich their lives. The theatre is home to a main auditorium, seating 401, and the much-loved Lauriston Studio, a 49-seat venue that's more experimental and where more intimate theatre is staged. There's also a cosy bar.

The Garrick hosts productions from visiting societies, along with many one-night shows from professional individuals, comedians and production/music companies. In addition, the Garrick Picturehouse shows films and recordings of professionally-staged productions. Take a tour for tales of the theatre's colourful history; the Garrick also hosts school open days, Q&As on curriculum-based plays and other events.

The Garrick's Youth Theatre, ‘A Garrick Academy of the Performing Arts’ (affectionately known as GAPA) is a venture giving young people a foundation in the disciplines of performance. It runs term-time Saturday classes for children aged five to 18 as well as a week-long Summer School in August. In addition, there are late afternoon LAMDA classes with experienced tutors.
