Film - The Wind

A sheltered young Virginian goes to live with her cousin in a sand-ridden shack on the rough and windy Texan prairie. The social disruption that results is reflected in the climatic conditions, culminating in a sand-storm of biblical proportions.

‘Sjöström was always at his best as a visual poet of natural forces impinging on human drama. Here, Sjöström and Gish both distil their art-forms to the simplest, most elemental form.’ – New York Museum of Modern Art
