Stretford Library

Stretford Library opened in 1940 and has been providing books and services to the public ever since. It’s an ideal spot to read, research, or simply spend time in a friendly, peaceful environment. The library is home to three community meeting rooms that are free to hire for any non-profit making organisations or individuals. 

Other services include free reservations for any item available at another Trafford library, computer facilities, adaptive equipment for visitors with accessibility needs and a library shop.

From M60 Junction 7 take the A56 (Chester Road) exit heading north toward Stretford for 1-mile before turning left onto Kingsway (just past Stretford Mall).

Turn right again onto Barton Road and first right onto School Road before taking a final right onto Bennett Street where the library is located, bottom left.

Disabled parking is available on Bennett Street and free on-street parking can be found on nearby streets (restrictions may apply); alternative parking is Stretford Mall, Kingsway.

Just Minutes from the Metrolink!

Take the Metrolink Green, Purple, or Pink lines directly to the Stretford Metrolink Station.

Exit right onto Edge Lane, before crossing Kingsway and walking on for 5-minutes; the library is located to the left on Bennett Street.

Travelling by Train? Take the Northern Rail line from Manchester Oxford Road / Piccadilly stations to Trafford Park station before transferring to the Bee Network.

Getting there by Bus is Simple!

Take the Bee Network lines 15, 23, 25, 79, or 256 directly to Stretford Mall.

Exit at the Stretford Mall or Kingsway stops and walk 2-minutes along Kingsway.

Turn right onto Bennett Street where the library is located.
