500 Words Writing Workshop at Altrincham Library

Part of 500 Words, the UK's largest story writing competition for children aged 5-11, this free writing workshop at Altrincham Library is the ideal way for kids to plan, write and perfect a story for the contest.

At this fun, interactive workshop, budding authors can develop ideas, build characters, create exciting plots and gain confidence in their writing. They don't need to have written a story before - all that's needed is imagination.

Taking part in 500 Words is a chance to build creativity and imagination, develop storytelling skills, encourage self-expression and inspire a lifelong love of reading and writing. Winning entries will also be read aloud by celebrities on the BBC.

This is a drop-in workshop, with no need to book in advance. Children under eight must be accompanied by an adult. All materials are provided.

Additional workshops are also available at Sale Library and Urmston Library.
