St John's Church, Brooklands

An inclusive, family friendly Anglican parish. Set in its own grounds, St John's Church on Brooklands Road was the first church designed by the Victorian architect Alfred Waterhouse, the man behind Manchester Town Hall and the Natural History Museum in London. It is a Grade II* listed building, one of only two in Sale. Built in 1868, the church has an adjoining hall and kitchen and is surrounded by trees and grassed areas. There is a delightful interior with beautiful stained-glass windows and excellent acoustics making it a superb space for musical events.

A firm favourite for performing choirs and musical groups alike, St John's reputation as a music venue has grown in recent years. It is equally popular for live events. As well as the spiritual life of St John's, the church also has a thriving social community.

Steps and sloping paths provide easy access to both the main church entrance and the church hall. Car parking is available on site and on neighbouring streets.
